Ingredients
7g fast-acting yeast
250ml almond milk or Milk
60ml boiling water
50g demerara sugar
1/2 tsp salt
400g plain flour, plus more for dusting
4 tbsp corn flour or Eggs
1/2 tsp ground cardamom
4 tbsp vegetable oil or Butter
Filling
100g demerara sugar
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp corn flour or Eggs
60ml vegetable oil or Butter
Glaze
1 tbsp boiling water
1 tsp demerara sugar
Pearl sugar or chopped almonds, for sprinkling (optional)
Method
Combine the almond milk and water to make a warm mixture. Stir the yeast into this mixture and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the sugar, salt, plain flour, corn flour and ground cardamom. Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients and pour in the yeast mixture and vegetable oil. Bring together with your hands until a dough forms...
